A good Brazilian manufacturer is not automatically an export-ready supplier. Verify its legal entity, export/Siscomex capability, NCM and product controls, documentation discipline, Incoterm/packing/logistics ability, payment workflow and who will prepare the DU-E. For a foreign buyer, export readiness is part of supplier qualification—not a task to discover after the purchase order.
Verify the exporter and operating capability, not just the factory
Confirm the contracting CNPJ, who will be exporter/declarante, whether the relevant representatives are enabled and whether the supplier has actually executed similar export flows.
Check product and export treatment before final quotation
NCM and export administrative treatment can trigger specific data, LPCO or other controls. The supplier should be able to identify who owns classification and regulatory confirmation.
Normalize the export document pack and Incoterm responsibilities
Agree commercial invoice, packing list, origin/certification needs where applicable, transport booking, export packing/labels, DU-E inputs, insurance and document cutoffs. Incoterm should match what each party can actually execute.
Use evidence from prior shipments and public trade data
Ask for anonymized process evidence, export references or shipment history where appropriate, and use Comex Stat/trade data as directional corroboration. Do not treat trade-data presence as proof of current compliance or capacity.
Brazilian customs, tax and product-control rules are transaction-specific and change over time. E2M research is decision support and local coordination—not customs brokerage, legal, tax or product-regulatory advice. Confirm shipment-specific NCM, licensing, tax treatment, declarations and regulatory requirements with the qualified customs, tax, legal and product specialists responsible for the operation.
